Hi, I’m Tracey, the creator of this blog, and I’m so glad you’re here.
This is me, still a little camera shy, but showing up anyway. I started my digital marketing journey at 56 while I was still working my 9–5. For years, I felt the pull toward something different… something slower, more meaningful, and more aligned with the kind of life I wanted in midlife.
So I began learning digital marketing in the evenings, on weekends, and in the tiny pockets of time I could find. I wasn’t a tech expert, and I definitely wasn’t a full-time creator. I was just a curious midlife beginner trying to figure out if there was a better way to earn an income and build a life I actually enjoyed.
Eventually, burnout caught up with me, physically and emotionally. After decades in a stressful career, I made the decision to retire early so I could focus full-time on building a digital business and rebuilding my health. It was a big leap, but it felt like the only path forward if I wanted more calm, more freedom, and more life in my life.
Digital Midlife was created to document the real journey, not the highlight reel. The wins, the setbacks, the tools, the lessons, and everything I wish someone would have told me when I was just getting started.
I’m not a six-figure marketing coach. I’m not here to promise overnight success. I’m simply a midlife woman building something new from scratch, one small step at a time and showing you that you can, too.

Why I Use an Avatar
When I decided to build a digital business, I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to maintain my privacy. I was drawn to faceless digital marketing, but traditional faceless content (stock videos, generic photos) never felt like me or the brand I wanted to build.
Inside DWA (Digital Wealth Academy), there’s a module on creating your AI twin or custom avatar. As soon as I went through it, everything clicked. Building Ava felt fun, creative, and aligned with the modern direction of digital marketing. Plus, she gives me a way to connect visually with my audience without using my real face on camera.
