Welcome To Digital Midlife!

Hi, I’m Tracey and I’m so glad you found your way here. This is me, still a little camera-shy, but showing up anyway.

I started learning digital marketing at 56, while working a corporate 9-to-5 and quietly wondering if there was something more. For years I’d felt the pull toward something slower, more meaningful, more mine. So I taught myself in the evenings, on weekends, in whatever pockets of time I could find, not because I was tech-savvy or entrepreneurial, but because I was a curious midlife beginner who believed it wasn’t too late to build something new.

My Turning Point

Then burnout caught up with me.

After 30+ years in a demanding career, my body and mind were done. I retired early to focus on two things: rebuilding my health and building an online business after 50. It was terrifying. But staying felt worse. That leap gave me something I desperately needed, space to breathe, and permission to start over.

Why Digital Midlife Exists

Digital Midlife exists to document the real journey of becoming a midlife entrepreneur, not the highlight reel.

The wins, the confusion, the tools that actually work, and everything I wish someone had told me when I was staring at my screen at midnight wondering if I was too late. I’m not a six-figure guru. I’m a woman navigating digital marketing after 50, building something from scratch one step at a time and showing you that you can too.

If you’ve ever felt “too old” to start or convinced you’re not tech-savvy enough, this space is for you. It’s never too late to rewrite your story.

I’d love to hear from you, whether you have questions, want to share your journey, or just need someone to say “I get it.”

Let’s build something beautiful in this next chapter. Together.

Meet Ava – The Face of Digital Midlife

Meet Ava (short for “avatar”), the friendly, recognizable face you’ll see across Digital Midlife content. I created her using AI tools, and honestly? She turned out even better than I imagined.

Why I Use an Avatar

When I decided to build a digital business, I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to protect my privacy.

I was drawn to faceless digital marketing, but traditional faceless content (stock videos, generic photos, text-on-screen) never felt like me or the brand I wanted to build. Then I discovered how to create my own AI avatar, and everything clicked.

Building Ava felt fun, creative, and completely aligned with where digital marketing is heading. She gives me a way to show up consistently and connect visually with my audience, without putting my real face on camera and it turns out a lot of midlife entrepreneurs feel exactly the same way.

If you’re curious how I created her (or want to make your own), check out my blog post: How I Created Ava
